Zebra

A ship of 400 tons built in 1818, the Zebra accompanied the Prince George to Adelaide in 1838 carrying Lutheran refugees from Silesia, Prussia. Her Captain was Dirk Meinertz Hahn, after whom the people named the town of Hahndorf.

The Zebra departed form Altona on 12 August 1838 and arrived at Port Misery (Port Adelaide, as it was then known)on 28 December, carrying provisions, 40, 924 bricks, household goods and 199 German emigrants. [List]
