A barque of 816 tons built in Sunderland in 1846, the Aboukir was less than a year old when she visited Adelaide in 1847 under command of Captain Charles Scott. Her surgeon superintendant on this voyage was Dr. Hill.

She departed London on 1 June 1847 for Adelaide travelling via plymouth and arriving here on 4 September, carrying passengers and 302 emigrants. [List]
